Insolvency Today editor, Joe McGrath opened the first Insolvency Today Annual Conference to 150 industry professionals at the Lancaster London Hotel, ahead of a day debating and discussing the key topics in the insolvency market.

Following opening remarks from the chair Richard Wolff, partner, head of corporate recovery and insolvency at JMW Solicitors LLP, the first session saw minister for employment relations, consumer and postal affairs. Edward Davey MP set the tone of the day engaging delegates with an update on the latest developments in insolvency legislation, regulation and consultations. In a year of challenges and changes for the insolvency industry, the morning's sessions provided a detailed picture of the economic and regulatory landscape currently facing the insolvency industry.

The afternoon saw the conference split into two streams focussing personal and corporate insovlency with interesting debate in the corporate insolvency stream between creditors and insolvency practitioners.
